Golf – A Nerve Wreaking Competition or a Sport for the Fit

 

Golf happens to be the oldest game after chess that was invariably invented by the Scotts in the late 12th century. Golf is played in vast terrains that usually vary between 30 to 200 acres. Some golfers enjoy the game individually but today it has taken the form of a team sport. The game involves less physical activity but enough exercise to make you feel exhausted and worked out by the end of the day. Your experience can further be enhanced with some Pilates exercises.

Golf for the fittest

But more than physical challenge, golf is a mental triumph. Unlike other sports, golf pays homage to the idea of aesthetics. This game also establishes some standard rules that are largely ignored in other popular sports. In this game, when a golfer intentionally or unintentionally breaks a rule, he penalizes himself. Apparently, golf seems to be a slow game without much action but to the golfers, it could be a mind numbing, complicated and often demeaning sport. This is where the role of Pilates came into play. The idea of Pilates workout is to prepare golfers for the mental and physical challenges of the game.

A challenging competition


Is golf a nerve wreaking or fearsome competition? Or is it a game for oldies who have apparently nothing else to do? Have you ever had a chance to play the round with a group of golfers who are not enjoying the game? Seeing them grumble about a wrong stroke or cursing every shot they play one would wonder why take the trouble to play. They were better off spending time with something they enjoy. Anyone could be a golf grump and this comes from the desire to master the game. But relax guys, it’s just a game meant to relief you from stress, socialize and have some quality time.
Seriously, no one is expecting you to go out there and shine with every par or round you take. Most golfers have that unnecessary urge to master the game and when they can’t do it, they begin cheating on their scorecard and there are also some reported cases where they toss their clubs away.

Golf for fun

If your golf experience was not an enjoyable one, then perhaps you need to change your attitude. Your competitive spirit would have made sense if this was your career sport but for an average player, the purpose of golf is solely entertainment. Some people head out to the course for a positive approach while others go there to forget about the problems bothering them. When you are there to play golf make sure you can relax for the next 18 holes.
